BEL Recruitment 2026: Bharat Electronics Limited Invites Applications for Project Engineer Posts
Bengaluru, May 28, 2026: Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navratna Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Defence and one of India’s leading professional electronics companies, has invited applications for the post of Project Engineer-I on a temporary basis for its Strategic Communication Strategic Business Unit (SBU), Bengaluru.
According to the official notification, BEL is looking to recruit qualified engineering professionals in the Electronics discipline for deployment across multiple strategic locations in India.
Vacancy Details
BEL has announced a total of four vacancies for the post of Project Engineer-I (Electronics). The category-wise distribution includes one post each for Unreserved (UR), Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Other Backward Classes – Non Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL), and Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must possess a four-year B.E./B.Tech./B.Sc Engineering degree in:

Applicants should also have a minimum of two years of relevant post-qualification industrial experience. BEL clarified that internships, academic projects, research work, teaching assignments, and training undertaken as part of academic curriculum will not be considered as valid experience.
The upper age limit is 32 years as on May 1, 2026. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per Government norms.
Salary and Benefits
The selected Project Engineers will initially be engaged for a period of three years, extendable up to four years based on project requirements and performance.
The consolidated monthly remuneration will be:

₹40,000 in the first year

₹45,000 in the second year

₹50,000 in the third year
-
₹55,000 in the fourth year (if extended)
In addition, candidates will receive:

Annual allowance of ₹12,000

Medical insurance coverage of ₹2 lakh

Life insurance coverage of ₹5 lakh

TA/DA and hotel accommodation during official travel

Area allowance for postings outside Bengaluru

Retention bonus of ₹1 lakh upon completion of four years
Selection Process
The selection process will consist of:

Interview
BEL stated that 85% weightage will be given to the written test and 15% to the interview. Candidates shortlisted in the ratio of 1:5 based on written test performance will be called for interviews.
The written test and interviews are expected to be conducted in Navi Mumbai and Chennai.

Applications sent via email or any other mode will not be accepted.
The application fee is ₹472 for General, EWS, and OBC candidates. Candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwBD categories are exempted from payment of the fee.
