BCCL Conducts STEM Immersion Workshop for Students at IIT ISM Dhanbad

Dhanbad, May 28, 2026: Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) organised a one-day STEM Immersion Workshop at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad on May 28, 2026, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative aimed at promoting science and technology education among underprivileged students.

BCCL Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) Shri Manoj Kumar Agarwal attended the programme as the Chief Guest.

The workshop was organised for students from schools located in BCCL operational areas, with a special focus on underprivileged children and students belonging to Project Affected Person (PAP) families. The initiative aimed to encourage interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education through innovative and experiential learning methods.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Agarwal underlined the growing importance of STEM education in shaping future-ready youth and driving national development. He appreciated the collaborative efforts of IIT (ISM) Dhanbad and BCCL in promoting innovative learning opportunities for students from economically weaker backgrounds.

He said the initiative aligns with the vision of “Viksit Bharat 2047” by empowering young minds with scientific knowledge, technological exposure and skill-based learning.

The programme witnessed participation from officials of both organisations, including Head of Department (CSR), BCCL, Shri Surendra Bhushan, members of BCCL’s CSR team, and representatives from IIT (ISM) Dhanbad.

Through such initiatives, BCCL aims to strengthen educational outreach and create greater learning opportunities for students residing in mining and operational regions.
