Konkan Railway Recruitment 2026: Apply for CPM, Works Manager and Assistant Works Manager Posts
Mumbai, May 28, 2026: Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) has issued three vacancy notifications inviting applications from eligible Indian Railways and Railway PSU mechanical officers for deputation-based postings at its Vadalapudi Workshop in Visakhapatnam.
The recruitment drive includes one post each for Chief Project Manager, Works Manager and Assistant Works Manager. All appointments will initially be on deputation for a period of three years, extendable up to five years.
According to the notifications issued on May 27, 2026, the last date for submission of applications is June 22, 2026.
Chief Project Manager Post
KRCL has invited applications for one post of Chief Project Manager in Junior Administrative Grade (JAG) or Senior Grade (SG). The post carries pay under Level-12 or Level-13 of the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC).
The position is open to IRSME officers working in Pay Matrix Level-12 or Level-13, as well as mechanical officers from Indian Railways or Railway PSUs with a minimum of seven years of service in senior scale. Officers serving in ad hoc JAG or senior scale are also eligible to apply.
The selected officer will oversee execution of contracts related to Periodical Overhaul (POH) and Non-Periodical Overhaul (NPOH) of wagons at the Vadalapudi Workshop. Responsibilities will include manpower planning, material management, infrastructure supervision, safety compliance and coordination with zonal railways.
Works Manager Post
For the Works Manager position, KRCL is seeking one mechanical officer in Senior Scale under Pay Matrix Level-11.
Candidates should have a minimum of five years of experience as an officer in Indian Railways or Railway PSUs. The officer will be responsible for POH/NPOH operations, workshop management, manpower deployment and safety administration at the Vadalapudi facility.
Assistant Works Manager Post
KRCL has also announced one vacancy for Assistant Works Manager in Junior Scale under Pay Matrix Level-10.
The position is open to mechanical officers from Indian Railways or Railway PSUs working in Pay Matrix Level-9 of the 7th CPC. The selected candidate will directly supervise various workshop shops to achieve wagon overhaul targets and assist senior management in workshop operations.
Eligibility and Deputation Conditions
For all three posts, the upper age limit is 56 years as on the date of notification. Selected officers will continue to draw pay and allowances admissible under Railway rules along with deputation allowance as per DoPT guidelines.
KRCL said it has been exempted from the rule of immediate absorption till December 31, 2026. Railway accommodation retention during deputation will be governed by Railway Board policy guidelines.
