UPSC Civil Services Result 2025 Out: 958 Candidates Recommended for IAS, IPS, IFS
New Delhi: The Civil Services Examination 2025 final results have been officially announced by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). According to the government press note, 958 candidates have been recommended for appointment to some of the country’s most prestigious services, including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and other Central Group A and Group B services.
The final list was prepared based on candidates’ performance in the written examination held in August 2025 and the personality test interviews conducted between December 2025 and February 2026.

958 Candidates Recommended for Appointment
UPSC confirmed that 958 successful candidates have been recommended for various civil services positions. The category-wise distribution is as follows:

Economically Weaker Sections (EWS): 104

Other Backward Classes (OBC): 306

Scheduled Castes (SC): 158

Scheduled Tribes (ST): 73
The result also includes candidates from the Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) categories across different groups.
Vacancies Across Key Civil Services
The Government of India had reported 1,087 vacancies to be filled through the Civil Services Examination 2025. These include positions across multiple services:

Group B Services: 195 posts
These vacancies also include 42 positions reserved for PwBD candidates.
Reserve List and Provisional Candidates
UPSC stated that it is maintaining a consolidated reserve list of 258 candidates, which may be used depending on future requirements and vacancies. The reserve list includes candidates from different categories:

Authorities will verify candidates’ claims regarding reservation status (EWS, OBC, SC, ST) and PwBD eligibility before final appointments are confirmed.
