New Delhi: SJVN Limited has been conferred the Third Prize in the prestigious ‘Swachhta Hi Sewa Pakhwada Awards 2024–25’ by the Ministry of Power, Government of India, in recognition of its outstanding performance during the nationwide Swachhta Hi Sewa campaign.

The award was presented by Shri Pankaj Agarwal, Secretary (Power) at a ceremony held in New Delhi. The honour was received on behalf of SJVN by Shri Parvind Negi, Deputy General Manager (CSR).

Leadership Response

Sh. Bhupender Gupta, Chairman & Managing Director of SJVN, congratulated the organization and its employees for the achievement. He emphasized that the recognition reflects SJVN’s sustained commitment to cleanliness, environmental responsibility, and community engagement.

Sh. Ajay Kumar Sharma, Director (Personnel), highlighted that during the ‘Swachhta Hi Sewa Pakhwada 2024–25’, observed from September 17 to October 2, the company carried out extensive cleanliness and awareness initiatives with active participation from employees and local communities.

Notably, this is the first time since the campaign’s inception in 2017 that the Ministry of Power has instituted awards under the Swachhta Hi Sewa initiative, making the recognition particularly significant.

Key Initiatives Undertaken

During the campaign period, SJVN implemented a range of activities including:

  • Cleanliness pledges and competitions

  • Plantation drives

  • Awareness programs in surrounding communities

  • Large-scale cleaning drives across 19 Cleanliness Target Units (CTUs)

The initiative resulted in the removal of 83.26 tonnes of waste, and the identified sites have been adopted for continued maintenance to ensure long-term impact.

Welfare Measures for Sanitation Workers

As part of its inclusive approach, SJVN also conducted:

  • Health camps for sanitation workers

  • Distribution of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kits

  • Assistance in linking workers to Government welfare schemes

The Swachhta Hi Sewa Pakhwada Awards recognize exemplary efforts by power sector public sector undertakings (PSUs) in furthering the objectives of the Swachh Bharat Mission.
