Mumbai, April 2026:  Axis Bank has announced that it has received approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for the re-appointment of Subrat Mohanty as its Whole-Time Director, designated as Executive Director, for a further term of three years.

According to the official regulatory filing, the RBI has approved the re-appointment vide its communication dated April 29, 2026. The new term will be effective from August 17, 2026, to August 16, 2029, subject to shareholder approval.

The decision follows an earlier board approval communicated by the bank in January 2026, reaffirming confidence in Mohanty’s leadership and strategic contribution to the organisation.

 

Strengthening Leadership Continuity at Axis Bank

The re-appointment is seen as part of Axis Bank’s broader strategy to maintain leadership continuity at the senior management level. Subrat Mohanty has played a key role in strengthening operational efficiency and driving business growth during his tenure.

With RBI’s approval now secured, the appointment moves closer to final confirmation, pending shareholder consent as per regulatory requirements under the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
