Sudhansh Pant to hold additional charge as Secretary of NCBC, NCSC

New Delhi, 2 September: The Competent Authority has approved the assignment of additional charge of the posts of Secretary, National Commission for Scheduled Castes, and Secretary, National Commission for Backward Classes, to Shri Sudhansh Pant, IAS (RJ:1991), Secretary, Department of Social Justice & Empowerment, with immediate effect and till the appointment of a regular incumbent or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Sudhansh Pant is a 1991-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from the Rajasthan cadre who has served as secretary of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment in the Government of India.

Career Highlights:

Appointed secretary in the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (moving to central deputation in late 2025).

Served as the Chief Secretary of Rajasthan from January 2024 to late 2025.

Previously served as the union health secretary and played a key role during the COVID-19 pandemic response and policy formulation.

Held key administrative positions including District Collector in Barmer, Jaisalmer, Jhunjhunu, and Bhilwara, alongside roles like Chairman of the Rajasthan Pollution Control Board and Principal Secretary of the Environment Department
