STPL’s 660 MW BTTP Unit-2 Successfully Completes 72-Hour Trial Run
New Delhi: STPL’s BTTP project (2×660 MW) has successfully completed the 72-hour trial run of its second unit on August 31, 2026.
The successful trial run marks an important milestone towards the commercial operation of Unit-2 of the project.
Performance Successfully Tested
The 72-hour trial run tested the unit’s performance, operational capability and functioning of key systems.
STPL said testing, commissioning and performance verification of other auxiliary and associated components, systems and equipment are currently underway.
COD to Be Decided After Approvals
The ongoing tests are aimed at ensuring the reliability, safe operation and technical performance of all major and auxiliary systems.
After completion of the required testing, technical procedures, formalities and necessary approvals, the Commercial Operation Date (COD) of Unit-2 will be determined as per the applicable provisions.
The successful completion of the 72-hour trial run is therefore an important step towards bringing the second unit of the BTTP project into commercial operation.
