Bank of Baroda issues advisor amid All India Strike on 9th July

The unions of All India Bank Officers Association (AIBOA) and Bank Employees Federation of India has served a notice of strike to Indian Banks’ Association informing that their members are proposing to go on a strike on 09.07.2025 in order to support their demands.

Public Sector Lender, Bank of Baroda has issued an advisory to the General Secretary of All India Bank Employees’ Association (AIBEA). The unions of All India Bank Officers Association (AIBOA) and Bank Employees Federation of India has served a notice of strike to Indian Banks’ Association informing that their members are proposing to go on a strike on 09.07.2025 in order to support their demands.

Though the Bank is taking necessary steps for smooth functioning of Bank's Branches and Offices on the days of strike, in the event the strike materializes, the functioning of the branches and offices may be affected, this was informed through exchanges.

An association of bank employees has stated that the banking sector will join a nationwide strike on 9 july. An all over nation general strike called by 10 central trade unions, which is against the major economic policies of the government and termed it as Anti-worker, Anti-Farmer, Anti-national pro-corporate policies of the government. They are alleging that these rigorous policies are causing major disruptions across the nation.

 As many as workers from Coal mines, PSU sectors like NMDC Ltd, Public Sector Banks and other state governments employees are going to show presence in this. The insurance and other financial sectors will be also part of this.

In the past, the Trade unions have organized similar nationwide strikes on November 26 2020, March 28-29, 2022 and February 16 of last year.

According to the bank employees association, this strike is expected to be observed by more than 15 crore workers in all industries to protest  against the pro-corporate economic reforms and anti-labour policies of the central government.
