ICICI Bank Receives Regulatory Approval to Fully Acquire ICICI Prudential Pension Fund

New Delhi:  ICICI Bank Limited has received a crucial regulatory green signal to complete the acquisition of 100% shareholding in ICICI Prudential Pension Funds Management Company Limited (ICICI PFM), turning it into a wholly owned subsidiary of the bank.

In a disclosure filed with stock exchanges on Tuesday, the bank confirmed that the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) has granted its approval through a letter dated January 5, 2026. The communication, received by ICICI Bank at 6:21 PM, permits the bank to proceed with the acquisition and become the official sponsor of ICICI PFM, subject to specified regulatory conditions.

The approval follows earlier announcements made by ICICI Bank on July 19, 2025 and November 28, 2025, outlining its strategic plan to purchase the pension fund business from ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Limited.
