IndusInd Bank Appoints Balaji Narayanamurthy as Chief Data Officer
IndusInd Bank appoints Balaji Narayanamurthy as Chief Data Officer to lead data-driven and AI initiatives, leveraging his 25+ years of banking and analytics experience.
Mumbai, December 1, 2025: IndusInd Bank Limited has announced the appointment of Mr. Balaji Narayanamurthy as its new Chief Data Officer (CDO), effective December 1, 2025. He joins the bank's Senior Management team, bringing over 25 years of experience in banking, data analytics, technology, and artificial intelligence.
Before joining IndusInd Bank, Mr. Narayanamurthy held important leadership roles at Axis Bank as President and Head of the Business Intelligence Unit and Head of Enterprise AI. He also served on the board of FreeCharge Payment Technologies Ltd. Earlier in his career, he gained significant experience in the US credit card industry, working with Barclay Card US, Capital One, and Citi Bank India.
Mr. Narayanamurthy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from IIT Chennai and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from IIM Lucknow. His appointment is expected to strengthen IndusInd Bank’s data-driven strategies and digital transformation efforts.
