PESB Recommends Subhasis Sengupta for Director (Operations) at RINL

New Delhi: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Subhasis Sengupta for the post of Director (Operations) at Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), a Schedule ‘A’ Central Public Sector Enterprise.

The recommendation was made during PESB Meeting No. 19/2026, held on March 10, 2026, in New Delhi. Sengupta currently serves as Chief General Manager (Projects) at the Durgapur Steel Plant of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL).

A total of 12 candidates from various public sector organisations and RINL were interviewed for the position. The candidates included senior executives from companies such as NTPC Limited, Cement Corporation of India Limited, and NMDC Limited, along with several senior officials from RINL itself.

The role of Director (Operations) at RINL is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the company’s operational performance, including production, plant operations, and process efficiency at its integrated steel plant.

RINL, which operates the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, is one of India’s major public sector steel producers and plays a significant role in the country’s steel manufacturing sector.

Following the PESB recommendation, the appointment will be subject to further approvals from the competent authorities before the final appointment is confirmed.
