Hero Future Energies’ Green Hydrogen Project for Industrial Decarbonization Recognized at Aegis Graham Bell Awards
Mumbai, March 10, 2026: Hero Future Energies (HFE), the renewable energy arm of the Hero Group, has been recognized with the Innovation in Climate Change Award at the 16th Aegis Graham Bell Awards, supported by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India. The Aegis Graham Bell Awards are among India’s leading recognitions celebrating innovation in technology and emerging solutions that address key societal and sustainability challenges.
The award recognises HFE’s Green Hydrogen project at Rockman Industries’ manufacturing facility in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh—a pioneering initiative that blends green hydrogen with PNG/LPG in industrial furnace applications. The project demonstrates a practical pathway for reducing emissions in hard-to-abate industrial processes while establishing a scalable model for the use of clean energy in manufacturing.
With an annual green hydrogen production capacity of 25 tonnes per annum (TPA), the project enables hydrogen blending with LPG and PNG in industrial furnaces, resulting in an estimated reduction of 206 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually, while maintaining operational efficiency. The initiative provides a replicable blueprint for decarbonising hard-to-abate sectors such as metals, cement, petrochemicals, and heavy manufacturing, supporting India’s broader clean energy transition and industrial sustainability goals.
Speaking on the recognition, Mr. Srivatsan Iyer, Global CEO, Hero Future Energies said: “Decarbonizing industrial processes is one of the most critical challenges in the global energy transition. Our green hydrogen project at Rockman Industries demonstrates how emerging clean technologies can be integrated into existing industrial systems to meaningfully reduce emissions. At Hero Future Energies, we remain focused on developing scalable clean energy solutions that accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy.”
