NTPC Western Region-I Celebrates International Women’s Day 2026 in Mumbai
Mumbai, 10 March 2026: NTPC Western Region-I Headquarters, Mumbai, celebrated International Women's Day with great enthusiasm, recognising and honouring the achievements and contributions of women across the organisation. The event was graced by the Regional Executive Director (West-I), Shri E. Satya Phani Kumar, and Shri A. P. Samal, CGM (Nuclear) & CEO (NPUNL), along with senior officials and employees.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by the Regional Head of HR (West-I), Smt. Vandana Chaturvedi, who welcomed the distinguished guests and participants. In her address, she highlighted the importance of fostering an inclusive workplace that empowers women to excel and contribute meaningfully to organisational growth. She emphasised that the organisation has consistently taken initiatives to promote gender diversity and create a supportive environment for women professionals.
Addressing the gathering, Shri E. Satya Phani Kumar, Regional Executive Director (West-I), appreciated the valuable contributions of women employees across projects and offices. He reiterated the organisation's commitment to strengthening an inclusive work culture where talent, dedication, and leadership are recognised and nurtured.
Shri A. P. Samal, CGM (Nuclear) & CEO (NPUNL), while addressing the gathering, commended the growing participation of women across diverse roles. He stated, "Women professionals are playing a crucial role in driving organisational excellence across sectors. Their leadership, resilience and commitment continue to inspire progress and set new benchmarks for the future."
A special session was delivered by Smt. Sangeeta Kaushik, Former Executive Director (Corporate Planning), NTPC, who shared insights from her distinguished professional journey and highlighted the importance of perseverance, leadership and continuous learning in shaping successful careers.
The event also featured a panel discussion on women's leadership and professional growth. The panel comprised Smt. Vandana Chaturvedi, Regional Head of HR (West-I); Dr. Disha Sharma, Assistant Professor, IIM Mumbai; Dr. Manisha Pandey, Chief Medical Officer, NTPC Tanda; and Dr. Aparajita Mishra, Chief Medical Officer, NTPC Darlipali. The discussion was moderated by Ms. Tanya Saini, Executive (CSR). The panelists shared perspectives on overcoming professional challenges, strengthening leadership capabilities and encouraging greater participation of women across sectors.
As part of the celebrations, women professionals from various projects and establishments of NTPC were recognised through awards across multiple categories.
Under the AURORA Rising Star Award, the recipients included Karumanchi Nagasusmitha Chowdary (NTPC Mouda), Ritika (NTPC Sipat), Jyotsna Kushwaha (NTPC Sipat), Shweta (NTPC Tanda) and Pedavegi Sravani (NTPC Mouda).
Under the QUANTUM LEAP - Innovation Champion category, awards were presented to Indu Baalvan (NTPC Kawas), Sneha Suman (NTPC Barh) and Kiran Diwakar (NETRA).
The LEGACY - Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Smt. Sangeeta Kaushik, Former Executive Director (Corporate Planning), NTPC, in recognition of her exemplary contribution and distinguished service.
Under the RIPPLE EFFECT - Community Impact category, the award was presented to Dr. Anjula Agrawal (NTPC Koldam).
Under the LUMINARY - Excellence in Leadership category, awards were presented to Dr. Manisha Pandey (NTPC Tanda), Dr. Aparajita Mishra (NTPC Darlipali) and Aastha Roy (NTPC Barh).
The LIGHTHOUSE - Championing Women Award was presented to Kirti Khanna (NTPC Gadarwara).
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, reaffirming the organisation's commitment to promoting gender inclusivity and recognising the achievements of women professionals across the organisation.
