UPI outage disrupts payments again; users face issues on PhonePe, Google Pay, Paytm

On Friday, the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) experienced a widespread outage that prevented users from completing payments on platforms such as Google Pay and Paytm, further disrupting digital transactions throughout India.
Users of social media platform X were inundated with complaints about unsuccessful payments and delayed transactions, especially on third-party apps. The disruption started around 11:26 AM, and by 11:41 AM, more than 222 users had reported problems on DownDetector, a service that tracks outages in real time.
