Govt appointed Ashwani Lohani as Director, Prime Minister’s Museum and Library
This appointment, approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet is for a tenure of three years. Lohani succeeds Sanjiv Nandan Sahai, with Lily Pandeya, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Culture, having served in the interim.

The Government of India has appointed Shri Ashwani Lohani, a retired Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineering (IRSME) officer from the 1980 batch, as Director of the Prime Ministers Museum and Library (PMML) at Teen Murti, New Delhi.
This appointment, approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet is for a tenure of three years. Lohani succeeds Sanjiv Nandan Sahai, with Lily Pandeya, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Culture, having served in the interim.

A seasoned bureaucrat, Lohani has held several key positions, including chairman and managing director of Air India (twice), chairman of the Railway Board, and CEO at GMR Group after retiring from government service.
He has also led the India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) and significantly contributed to the revival of both ITDC and the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (MPTDC) during his leadership from 2001 to 2010.
