BEML Palakkad Complex Wins Kerala State Industrial Safety Award
Thiruvananthapuram, March 04, 2026: BEML Limited’s Palakkad Complex has been conferred with the prestigious State Industrial Safety Award 2025, instituted by the Government of Kerala under the Department of Factories and Boilers, in recognition of its exemplary commitment to workplace safety and adherence to the highest industrial safety standards.
This marks the second time BEML has received this distinguished honour, reaffirming the organisation’s sustained emphasis on operational discipline, employee well-being, and globally benchmarked safety practices across its manufacturing operations.
The Palakkad Complex secured the award under Category I – “Very Large Factories” (employing more than 500 workers), Sub-Category II – Engineering and Automobile, highlighting its leadership in implementing robust safety systems within large-scale, high-precision industrial environments.
The award was presented at a formal ceremony held in Thiruvananthapuram, where Shri V. Sivankutty, Hon’ble Minister for General Education and Labour, Government of Kerala, presented the honour to the senior leadership team of the Palakkad Complex.
BEML’s Palakkad Complex is a state-of-the-art defence manufacturing facility comprising five major hangars — four Production Hangars and one advanced Assembly Shop Floor — supported by a dedicated Machine Shop and Shot Blasting & Painting Hangar.
The facility manufactures BEML HMV (high mobility vehicle) variants of 12x12, 10x10, 8x8, 6x6 to 4x4 along with Ground Support Vehicles for Guided Missile Programmes, Heavy, Medium and Light Recovery Vehicles, and 50-tonne trailers for tank transportation.
