Bengaluru: Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has been awarded a ₹2,901 crore contract by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) for the supply of six Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH) Mk-III, Maritime Role (MR) to the Indian Coast Guard. The contract includes operational role equipment, an engineering support package, and performance-based logistics support under the Buy (Indian-Indigenously Designed, Developed and Manufactured) category.
The signing ceremony was conducted at South Block, New Delhi, in the presence of Defence Secretary Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh. The ALH Mk-III (MR) helicopters feature twin-engine advanced technology and are designed for maritime surveillance, search and rescue, offshore protection, and coastal security operations.
