New Delhi, February 2026: The Government of India has approved the re-designation of Shri Dinesh Hariram Mate, IA&AS (2012), from Deputy Director General at Deputy Secretary level to Deputy Director General at Director level in the Directorate General of Shipping, Mumbai, under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways.
The approval, issued by the Department of Personnel and Training through an Office Memorandum dated February 2026, is effective from the date Shri Mate assumes charge of the re-designated post. The tenure of this appointment is fixed until 21 November 2030, completing the five-year period under the Central Staffing Scheme.
The re-designation is granted as a measure personal to Shri Mate, reflecting his distinguished service and leadership within the Indian Administrative & Accounts Service (IA&AS). Shri Mate’s central deputation tenure commenced on 21 November 2025 (AN).
The decision is part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to strengthen senior leadership in the Directorate General of Shipping and to ensure effective administration and governance of India’s maritime sector.
The Office Memorandum was issued under the signature of Annie Kanmani Joy, Director (MM), Department of Personnel and Training, and has been circulated to the relevant offices including the Secretary of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways.
