CMPDI Intensifies Swachhata Pakhwada 2026 Drive, Promotes Plastic-Free Communities
Ranchi, June 18, 2026: State-run Central Mine Planning and Design Institute Ltd (CMPDI) has intensified its efforts to promote sustainable practices under the ongoing Swachhata Pakhwada 2026 campaign, launching a series of community initiatives aimed at reducing dependence on single-use plastic.
As part of the nationwide cleanliness and awareness drive, CMPDI employees carried out sanitation activities and engaged with local communities to encourage eco-friendly habits.
Awareness Drive at Bhubaneswar's Baramunda Bus Stand
CMPDI's Regional Institute-VII in Bhubaneswar conducted an extensive cleanliness drive at the Baramunda Bus Stand, where employees interacted with shopkeepers and hotel owners to raise awareness about the harmful effects of single-use plastic (SUP).
To promote proper waste management, dustbins were distributed among local establishments, encouraging segregated disposal of waste and cleaner public spaces.
Cloth Bag Distribution Campaign in Ranchi
In Ranchi, CMPDI organized a cloth bag distribution drive at the Veterinary Market and the market area opposite the company's headquarters. The initiative sought to motivate shoppers and vendors to replace plastic bags with reusable and environmentally friendly alternatives.
The campaign aligns with the broader objective of reducing plastic pollution and fostering sustainable consumption habits among citizens.
Commitment to a Cleaner and Greener Future
Through these initiatives, CMPDI continues to support the Government of India's Swachh Bharat mission and promote environmental responsibility at the grassroots level. The company said community participation and behavioural change are key to achieving long-term sustainability goals.
