Supporting the country's long-term energy transition goals.
The roadshow was organized as part of the Ministry of Coal's efforts to accelerate investment and industry participation in surface coal and lignite gasification projects.
Boosting India's Coal Gasification Mission
Coal gasification converts coal into synthetic gas, which can be used to produce chemicals, fertilizers, methanol, and clean fuels. The technology is considered a key pillar of India's strategy to diversify energy sources while utilizing abundant domestic coal reserves in a more environmentally sustainable manner.
The Ministry of Coal has been actively promoting gasification projects to achieve the government's target of expanding coal gasification capacity and fostering self-reliance in the energy sector.
Industry Collaboration Key to Future Growth
The exhibition provided a platform for industry players to showcase technological advancements and explore opportunities for collaboration in developing next-generation coal gasification projects.
Officials said the adoption of advanced gasification technologies would contribute to cleaner coal usage, support industrial growth, and align with India's vision of achieving sustainable and secure energy supplies.
