CIL AWARDED FOR INNOVATIVE AND FULLY AUTOMATED TENDERING PROCESS
NEW DELHI: Coal India Ltd has been awarded for its “Innovative use of its fully automated tendering process” at a National Workshop organized by Ministry of Finance, Department of Expenditure, NIC, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India.
The award was received by Shri. Manoj Upadhyay, Chief Manager (MM/Vig), CIL and Shri. R. K. Patra, Chief Manager (MM) & Nodal officer e-procurement, CIL from Shri. Ajay Prakash Sawhney, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Govt. of India.
Coal India and its subsidiaries have a dedicated e-procurement portal ( https://coalindiatenders.nic.in) which was developed in 2013 in association with National Informatics Centre (NIC) using their GePNIC software for online bidding. It uses the conventional two cover system for technical and price bids for procurement of goods, works and services. In January 2016, CIL designed an innovative e-procurement process for automatic evaluation of bids and online submission of EMD. The EMD of unsuccessful bidders has refunded automatically once their bid is unsuccessful.
