New Delhi, June 9, 2026: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has invited applications for the post of Director (Finance) in ONGC Videsh Limited, the overseas exploration and production arm of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited.

The board-level vacancy offers a pay scale of ₹1.80 lakh–₹3.40 lakh (IDA) and carries a tenure of five years or until superannuation, whichever is earlier.

 

ONGC Videsh: India's Global Energy Arm

A Schedule 'A' Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, ONGC Videsh plays a critical role in India's energy security through overseas oil and gas exploration projects.

As of April 1, 2026, the company holds 2P reserves of 518.937 MMToe and has cumulatively produced around 224 MMToe of oil and gas since inception. During FY26, it recorded total oil and gas production of 9.671 MMToe, accounting for approximately 15.53% of India's domestic output.

The company has an authorized capital of ₹25,000 crore and paid-up capital of ₹15,000 crore, with ONGC holding 100% equity.

 

Key Responsibilities of Director (Finance)

The Director (Finance) will be a member of the Board of Directors and report directly to the Managing Director. The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Overall finance and accounts functions;

  • Corporate financial management and policy formulation;

  • Budgeting, treasury, and accounting systems;

  • Financial strategy and implementation.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must possess one of the following qualifications:

  • Chartered Accountant (CA);

  • Cost Accountant;

  • Full-time MBA/PGDM with specialization in Finance.

Preference will be given to Chartered Accountants.

Applicants should also have at least five years of cumulative senior-level experience during the last ten years in corporate financial management or corporate accounts.

 

Who Can Apply?

Eligible candidates may belong to:

  • Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs);

  • Central Government and All India Services;

  • Public Sector Banks and Financial Institutions;

  • State PSUs with turnover above ₹5,000 crore;

  • Private companies and joint ventures with turnover exceeding ₹5,000 crore.

Preference for private-sector applicants will be given to executives from listed companies.

 

 

Pay Scale

The post carries the following remuneration:

Schedule A Post

₹1,80,000 – ₹3,40,000 (IDA)

 

 

Age Requirement

Applicants must be at least 45 years old.

Candidates should also have:

  • Minimum residual service of two years (internal candidates); or

  • Three years (other applicants) before superannuation.

The age of superannuation is 60 years.
