Central Electricity Authority, IIT Roorkee signed MoU to enhance Power Sector Research

The main objective of the agreement is to enhance the knowledge and technical capabilities of CEA personnel via short-term project work and access to IIT Roorkee’s online courses.

Central Electricity Authority (CEA) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Ithe ndian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee to strengthen the collaboration in terms of knowledge sharing, research disciplines, capacity building programme, in the field of the power and energy sector.

The main objective of the agreement is to enhance the knowledge and technical capabilities of CEA personnel via short-term project work and access to IIT Roorkee’s online courses. Meanwhile, it will also led to promoting joint studies and projects on critical issues related to India’s electricity situation and energy landscape.

Additionally, this would advance interdisciplinary research on decarbonization, energy efficiency, water neutrality, and transition frameworks. And further, this would also support the country in achieving net-zero emissions by 2070.

The two behemoth organization will be joining hands on the factors of data sharing, facilities, and research outcomes based on mutual consent, align with confidentiality agreements.

The partnership underlines the government’s focus on strengthening the academic based industry collaborations in order to accelerate it through innovation, policy formulation, and technical interventions in the power sector.
