HURL Signs Landmark MoU with DVC, SAIL, and Jadavpur University

New Delhi, July 7, 2025: In a major stride towards advancing India’s green energy landscape, Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited (HURL) signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), Jadavpur University, and Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) for the establishment of a Centre of Excellence (CoE) dedicated to research, development, and innovation in Green Hydrogen and Green Ammonia.

The CoE will be developed under the ambit of the National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM) — an initiative by the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India — and aims to foster cutting-edge R&D, scalable technologies, and industry-academia collaboration in the emerging field of green fuels.

The MoU signing ceremony was graced by the presence of Dr. S.P. Mohanty, Managing Director, HURL, and Mr. S. Suresh Kumar, IAS, Chairman, DVC, along with senior representatives from partner institutions. The event underscored a shared vision for driving clean energy transformation through strategic partnerships and innovation-led solutions.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Mohanty emphasized the importance of collaborative R&D in achieving national energy goals and strengthening India’s position as a global leader in sustainable energy technologies.

This strategic collaboration brings together the industrial strength of HURL, DVC, and SAIL with the academic excellence of Jadavpur University — setting the stage for a future powered by knowledge, sustainability, and self-reliance.
