Ministry of Railways, C-DAC, and industry partners join hands for advanced rail electrification
In a significant move toward advancing India’s rail electrification initiatives, a Memorandum of Agreement has been signed for the development of a 3-phase propulsion system. The agreement involves the Ministry of Railways, the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), and several industry collaborators.
The signing ceremony took place in the esteemed presence of S. Krishnan, Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). This strategic partnership marks a major step in the creation of indigenous, energy-efficient rail technologies, underscoring India’s commitment to innovation and self-reliance in transportation infrastructure.
The collaborative development of the 3-phase propulsion system is expected to significantly enhance the performance, sustainability, and efficiency of the nation’s railway network.
