Indore to establish India’s First PPP Green Waste Processing Plant
This initiative emphasises the city's will to solve urban trash issues by means of sustainability and creativity.

New Delhi: In a significant move to open India's first PPP-model-based green waste processing plant under the Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban, Indore is all set to significantly move towards environmental sustainability. With the conversion of green waste into useful resources, this innovative project seeks to transform the waste management system of the city.
This initiative emphasises the city's will to solve urban trash issues by means of sustainability and creativity. Apart from handling green trash, the facility would make money since the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) gets about Rs 3,000 per tonne in royalties on branches and wood supplies.
Constructed on a 55,000-square-foot site near Bicholi Hapsi, the facility will convert wood and branches into wooden pellets, therefore substituting for coal and so encouraging energy saving.

Turning sawdust into environmentally friendly fuel offers a better substitute for conventional burning techniques.
It can be utilised to create robust packing goods that cut demand for plastic. Manufacturers of furniture find it beneficial as a composite material since it gives goods like tables and chairs strength.
