Amresh Prasad Takes Charge as Union Bank’s New Executive Director
Union Bank of India has appointed Shri Amresh Prasad as its new Executive Director for a tenure of three years.

Mumbai, November 25, 2025: Union Bank of India has announced the appointment of Shri Amresh Prasad as the Executive Director of the bank. The appointment was notified by the Central Government through notification number eF.No. 4/4(iii)/2024-BO.I dated November 24, 2025, in accordance with Regulation 30 of SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
Shri Amresh Prasad will serve as Executive Director for a period of three years, starting from November 24, 2025, the date on which he assumed office. His tenure will continue until October 31, 2028, the date of his superannuation, or until further orders, whichever comes earlier.
Professional Background
Before taking charge at Union Bank of India, Shri Prasad served as Chief General Manager at Punjab National Bank, posted at the Corporate Office. He brings with him over 32 years of rich banking experience, covering branch operations, zonal office responsibilities and senior leadership roles at the head office. His expertise spans areas such as corporate credit, credit review and monitoring, and transaction monitoring.
Shri Prasad is a graduate in Chemistry and a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB). He has participated in multiple leadership and professional development programmes, including a Leadership Development Programme at SBIL Kolkata and the Aarohan 2023 FSIB Programme conducted by the Financial Services Institution.
The bank has confirmed that Shri Amresh Prasad holds no relation with any existing director, has no shareholding in the bank, and is not debarred by SEBI or any other authority.
