Manoj Kumar Agarwal assumes charge as Chairman-cum-Managing Director of BCCL
Shri Manoj Kumar Agarwal has taken over as Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of Coal India’s subsidiary Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL).
Dhanbad, 3 September 2025: Shri Manoj Kumar Agarwal has taken over as Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of Coal India’s subsidiary Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL). Prior to this appointment, he served as Director (Technical) at BCCL.
With over four decades of diverse experience in the coal sector, Shri Agarwal has also worked in various capacities at our subsidiaries Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) and Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL).
A mining engineering graduate from the Indian School of Mines (ISM), Dhanbad, Shri Agarwal also holds a Master of Business Administration (Executive) degree from the Indian Institute of Management, Ranchi.

Further Mr. Agarwal chaired the 1st GMs Coordination Meeting on September 2, 2025, at Koyla Bhawan. The meeting was attended by Director (HR) Shri Murli Krishna Ramaiah, Director (Technical–Operations) Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh, CVO Shri Aman Raj, DIG CISF, Shri Jitendra Kumar Tiwari, along with all GMs, HoDs, and senior officials. In his address, CMD reiterated BCCL’s vision of ensuring sustainability for the nation’s steel and energy sectors.
He underlined the critical importance of vigilance in every sphere of work and called for collective efforts to be optimized for the benefit of all stakeholders, reinforcing BCCL’s commitment to national growth and community welfare.
