Surya Narayan Panigrahi Assumes Charge as Executive Director (HR), NRHQ, NTPC
Lucknow, June 11, 2026: Surya Narayan Panigrahi has assumed charge as Executive Director (HR), Northern Region Headquarters (NRHQ) of NTPC Limited with effect from June 8, 2026. He will head the Human Resources function for NRHQ while also overseeing the HR function of the Southern Region.

A distinguished HR professional with more than 36 years of experience in NTPC, Shri Panigrahi has made significant contributions across diverse areas of Human Resource Management, including:

During his illustrious career, he has served at key NTPC establishments, including Talcher Kaniha (Odisha), Vindhyachal (Madhya Pradesh), APCPL Jhajjar (Haryana), Tanda (Uttar Pradesh), Corporate Centre (New Delhi), and the Southern Region (Hyderabad).
Pivotal Role in HR Digital Transformation
At NTPC Corporate Centre, Shri Panigrahi played a pivotal role in the implementation of PeopleSoft HRMS and SAP ERP systems, contributing significantly to the modernization and digital transformation of HR processes across the organization.
He subsequently served as Head of HR at Tanda Super Thermal Power Station and later as Regional Head of HR for NTPC’s Southern Region. He took over as Regional Head of HR at NTPC Northern Region Headquarters along with Southern Region HQ in December 2025. He has now been elevated to the position of Executive Director (HR) w.e.f. June 8, 2026.
