New Delhi, March 18, 2026: In a significant move to strengthen its leadership and strategic initiatives, Petronet LNG Limited has appointed Shri Deepak Gupta, Chairman & Managing Director of GAIL (India) Limited, as a Nominee Director on its Board, effective from March 18, 2026. The appointment was approved by Petronet LNG’s Board of Directors in a meeting held on the same day, following recommendations from its Nomination and Remuneration Committee.

Shri Deepak Gupta, a Mechanical Engineering graduate from Delhi College of Engineering, brings over 35 years of experience across the oil and gas sector. Known for his expertise in project and construction management, global procurement, technology selection, operations and maintenance, and business development, Shri Gupta has led several high-impact initiatives in India and abroad.

At GAIL (India) Limited, he currently oversees the execution of critical projects across natural gas and LPG pipelines, gas processing units, SCADA infrastructure, and green energy initiatives aimed at achieving net-zero goals. He also manages operations and maintenance of GAIL’s extensive network of over 20,000 km of pipelines and associated infrastructure.

Shri Gupta’s leadership record includes key roles as Chairman of Talcher Fertilizers Ltd., Director of ONGC Petro-additions Limited (OPaL), and former Chairman of Green Gas Limited and Maharashtra Natural Gas Limited. His international experience includes spearheading projects like India’s first greenfield refinery in Mongolia, the mega petrochemical complex at Bathinda, and landmark refinery projects in Nigeria.

Shri Gupta holds no equity shares in Petronet LNG and has no inter-se relationship with any other directors. He is not barred from holding office by SEBI or any other regulatory authority.
