Shri Sunil Kumar Ranjan takes charge as Government Nominee Director at MTNL Board
NEW DELHI: The Board of Directors of MTNL has confirmed the appointment of Shri Sunil Kumar Ranjan, Deputy Director General DDG (C&A), Department of Telecommunications (DoT), as a Government Nominee Director of Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) on the Board of MTNL w.e.f. 13.01.2026 for a period of three years or till the date of his superannuation or until further orders, whichever is the earlier.
Shri Sunil Kumar Ranjan is a Central Secretariat Services (CSS) officer of 1998 batch, selected through the Civil Services Examination.
Over the course of his distinguished career, he has served in several key ministries and departments of the Government of India, including the Ministry of Textiles Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Women and Child Development, Staff Selection Commission (SSC), Ministry of Mines Department of Commerce, Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Health Research, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and the Inter- State Secretariat Council under MHA.
He is presently posted in the Department of Telecommunications. He possesses wide-ranging experience in administration, vigilance, policy formulation, recruitment, trade negotiations, and the implementation of various government schemes. Academically, Shri Ranjan holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Sambalpur University (1994) and a Master's degree in Geography from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi (1998).
