Mumbai: Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL), one of the largest City Gas Distribution companies in India, made a significant impact at the recently concluded India Energy Week 2024, held from 06 February to 09 February in Goa. This prestigious event, inaugurated by the Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi, witnessed the convergence of global energy leaders, policymakers, industry experts, and stakeholders to deliberate on the future of the energy landscape in India. Mahanagar Gas Limited was represented by the senior leadership team including Mr. Ashu Shinghal - Managing Director, Mr. Sanjay Shende - Deputy Managing Director, Mr. Rajesh Wagle - Sr. Vice President (Marketing), Mr. T. L. Sharnagat - Vice President (Contracts & Procurement & Chief Risk Officer), Mr. Gurvinder Singh - Vice President (Projects), Mr. Rajesh Patel - Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Manas Das - Vice President (Commercial & Business Development) and Mr. Sitanshu Roychowdhury – Vice President (Operations & Maintenance).

The company also showcased its futuristic approach and adaptability at this prestigious platform. MGL’s foray into LNG and CBG, emphasised through its exhibit, led to many discussions around the company’s diversification in the sector. The exhibit was inaugurated by Mr. Sandeep Kumar Gupta, Chairman, Mahanagar Gas Limited in the presence of dignitaries from the industry.

At the India Energy Week Conference, Mr. Sanjay Shende, Deputy Managing Director, Mahanagar Gas Limited shared his insights on the potential of City Gas Distribution (CGD) infrastructure through a distinguished panel discussion, alongside other industry experts. During the session, the discussion centred on the changing energy and economic landscape as well as the escalating demand for natural gas. Drawing on his expertise and experience, he highlighted the critical role of development of gas supply networks in India's energy landscape, and the pivotal role of natural gas and CGDs in the country’s quest of energy transition.
