Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) proudly announces the commissioning of its new Bitumen production train, powered by cutting-edge ‘Biturox’ technology from global leaders Pörner, Austria, and engineered by Engineers India Limited.
With an annual capacity of 1,50,000 metric tons (TMT), this new unit doubles MRPL's Bitumen production capacity, strengthening its role as a key enabler of India's road infrastructure growth—a crucial pillar for the nation’s economic progress.
India’s extensive road network, vital to its development strategy, relies heavily on high-quality Bitumen. Addressing the challenges of imported Bitumen, quality inconsistencies and performance issues, MRPL’s new facility delivers locally produced, superior-grade VG40 Bitumen, with the flexibility to produce VG30 and other grades as required.
