New Delhi: Public Enterprises selection board on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, in the selection meeting interviewed two applicants for the post of Chairman and Managing Director of the Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL).
However the board did not find any suitable candidate, according to the meeting it said, the board did not recommend any candidate and advised the Ministry of Mines to choose an appropriate course of further action including a search cum selection committee or as deemed appropriate for the selection with the approval of the competent authority.

A public sector undertaking under the administrative control of the Ministry of Mines, the Government of India was incorporated in November 1967 and is the only vertically integrated copper producer in India.
It operates mines in the Indian state of Jharkhand, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh, is committed to sustainable mining practices and has implemented several initiatives to reduce its environmental impact.
HCL is listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange and the National Stock Exchange of India, and its shares are also traded on the London Stock Exchange.
