Damodar Valley Corporation Organizes Cybersecurity Workshop for Power Sector
DVC and CSIRT-Power conduct cybersecurity awareness event in Kolkata for Eastern and Northeastern power utilities.
As a part of capacity building, a Regional Conference/workshop on Cybersecurity awareness for Power Sector Professionals of Eastern and North-eastern Region utilities
was conducted on 14 th July 2025 at Kolkata by Computer Security Incident Response Team for Power Sector (CSIRT-Power), Ministry of Power, GoI in association with
Damodar Valley Corporation. The power sector is increasingly becoming a prime target for cyber threats, necessitating a trained & vigilant workforce capable of anticipating,
preventing, and responding to cyber incidents. Capacity building through Cyber security conferences/awareness programs is essential to empower IT and OT
professionals of Power Sector Utilities.

Sh. L. K. S. Rathore, Director, CSIRT-Power emphasized the importance of cybersecurity, particularly in a critical sector as power. He further informed that cyber security awareness workshop initiatives are being taken by CSIRT-Power under the directions of Hon’ble Minister of Power and efforts are underway to arrange similar
workshops for other regions as well.
