WCL Signs MoU to Continue Support for Project Saudamini Women’s Livelihood Initiative
Nagpur, 5 September 2026: Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) continues its support to Aroha Multipurpose Society for its flagship Project Saudamini, aimed at empowering women through sustainable livelihood opportunities.
The project is being implemented in partnership with Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s Urban Livelihood Mission. It supports the Saudamini–Sonchiraaiya Stitching Cluster at the City Livelihood Centre in Somalwada, Nagpur.

Project Focus
Under the initiative, 35 new beneficiaries will receive advanced stitching and production training. The project will also:

Strengthen the training-cum-production centre

Provide entrepreneurship, leadership, market-linkage and financial-access support

Build a cluster of 100 women artisans
The goal is to enable sustainable microenterprises, self-employment and greater economic independence for marginalised urban women in Nagpur and their families.
The project is guided by the leadership of Dr. Hemant Sharad Pande, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, WCL.
