New Delhi: NTPC, the power generation company, has announced that it will be able to meet over 15% of its fuel requirement for its plants through in-house coal mining in the fiscal year 2025. In the fiscal year 2024, the company dispatched 34.15 million tonnes of coal, while producing 34.38 million tonnes.
The company was able to achieve this feat by implementing several strategies and technologies, such as improved mine planning, equipment automation, workforce training, and the implementation of continuous monitoring and analysis systems.
These measures led to higher production of coal. In February 2024, the company achieved the milestone of 100 million metric tonnes of coal production.
