PESB recommends Sunil Shivaling Bagi as Director (Finance), GSL
New Delhi: Public enterprises selection board has recommended the name of Shri Sunil Shivaling Bagi, Chief General Manager of Goa Shipyard Ltd for the post of Director (Finance), Goa Shipyard Ltd on June 3, 2022.
PESB in the Selection meeting also interviewed Five others apart from him Mr. Surender Kumar Sharma, Additional General Manager, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Mr. Swapan Kumar Bhattacharya, Additional General Manager, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Mr. B Karthikeyan, General Manager, Mangalore Refineries & Petrochemicals Ltd, Mr. Himanshu Sekhar Panda, Deputy General Manager, National Aluminium Company Limited, Mr. Karunesh Kumar Mishra, Chief Financial Officer, Rosa Power Supply Company Limited.
Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) is an Indian Government-owned shipbuilding company located on the West Coast of India at Vasco da Gama, Goa. It build barges to be used in Goa's growing mining industry, which took off after the establishment of India's blockade of Goa in 1955. GSL is undergoing a modernisation of its yard to adapt to the latest technology in shipbuilding. For this purpose, it is negotiating with well-known shipbuilders for an arrangement to collaborate.
To date, it has built 167 vessels, including barges, tugs, landing craft, offshore patrol vessels, and other vessels for the Indian Navy and Coast Guard and for export to countries like Yemen.
