Power Grid bags inter state transmission project under TBCB
The project, titled "Transmission System for Evacuation of Power from Rajasthan REZ Phase IV (Part 2: 5.5 GW) (Jaisalmer/Barmer Complex): Part H1," will be executed on a build, own, operate, and transfer (BOOT) basis.

State-owned Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd has announced that it has been declared the successful bidder to establish a major inter-state transmission system under a tariff-based competitive bidding process.
The project, titled "Transmission System for Evacuation of Power from Rajasthan REZ Phase IV (Part 2: 5.5 GW) (Jaisalmer/Barmer Complex): Part H1," will be executed on a build, own, operate, and transfer (BOOT) basis.
The Letter of Intent (LoI) was awarded to Power Grid on September 18, 2024. The scope of the project includes the establishment of a new 765/400/220kV sub-station in Kurawar, Madhya Pradesh, along with 765kV and 400kV double circuit transmission lines and associated bays extension at existing substations within the state.

This project plays a critical role in enhancing power evacuation from renewable energy zones in Rajasthan, advancing India's clean energy objectives while strengthening its transmission infrastructure.
