New Delhi: Ministry of Power (MoP) has approved Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) for the NDMC area of New Delhi with a project cost of Rs. 337 Cr.
The scheme ‘Implementation Agreement’ was signed by New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) with Power Finance Corporation Ltd (PFC), the Nodal agency for the scheme, in a move aimed at improving the quality, reliability and affordability of Power supply in NDMC including the proposed central vista area.
Read Also : AAI conducts four-day-long Advanced Training SessionThe agreement was signed by Shri Saurav Shah, ED-PFC and Dr. Ankita Chakravarthy, Secretary, NDMC in the presence of senior officials of both PFC and NDMC.
The RDSS scheme is aimed to create a financially sustainable and operationally efficient distribution sector. Under the scheme, existing distribution infrastructure will be upgraded including the replacement of old infrastructure, automation of feeders for better reliability and installation of system meters of energy accounting.

National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC), a Navratna Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Steel, Government of India is the single largest producer of iron ore in India. It owns and operates highly mechanized iron ore mines in Chhattisgarh and Karnataka and has its registered office at Hyderabad,Telangana. NMDC is considered to be one of the low-cost producers of iron ore in the world. It also operates the only mechanized diamond mine in India at Panna, Madhya Pradesh. NMDC is also setting up a 3 MT integrated steel plant at Nagarnar, Chhattisgarh.
The Company is producing about 35 MTPA of iron ore from its major iron producing units i.e. from Bailadila Sector in Chhattisgarh and Donimalai in Bellary-Hospet region in Karnataka. NMDC envisages to have an iron ore production capacity of 100 MT by FY30.
All of NMDC mining complexes have been rated 5 Star by Indian Bureau of Mines, Ministry of Mines which is a testimony to its scientific and sustainable mining practices.
NMDC has its own R&D Centre at Hyderabad which is recognized as a Centre of Excellence by UNIDO. All the NMDC mines and R&D Centre have ISO & EMS accreditations.
