Indian Railways officer Yashpal Singh Tomar recommended as next Director (NP&M) of RailTel
Yashpal Singh Tomar, an Indian Railways Service of Signal Engineers (IRSSE) officer, has been recommended as the next Director (Network Planning & Marketing) of Railtel Corporation of India (RailTel), a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) under the Ministry of Railways. The recommendation was made by the Public Enterprises Selection Board.

NEW DELHI- Yashpal Singh Tomar, an Indian Railways Service of Signal Engineers (IRSSE) officer, has been recommended as the next Director (Network Planning & Marketing) of Railtel Corporation of India (RailTel), a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) under the Ministry of Railways. The recommendation was made by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on March 16, but Tomar's appointment will only take effect after approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
Tomar was selected from a pool of 10 candidates who were interviewed by the PESB panel. Of these, five candidates were from RailTel, two were from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), and one each from Balmer Lawrie & Co. Limited, Indian Telecommunication Service, and Indian Railways.
As Director (Network Planning & Marketing) of RailTel, Tomar will be a member of the Board of Directors and will report to the Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of RailTel. He will be responsible for carrying out statutory and corporate duties aimed at promoting the company's efficient and profitable operation.
