NEW DELHI . As part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan being organized during the fortnight of 16th July to 31st July in all airports across India, a tree plantation drive was undertaken by ‘Indian Aviation Academy’ - the training centre of Airports Authority of India on July 28 , 2016 which was inaugurated by Union Minister of Civil Aviation,
Shri P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju. Around 50 neem saplings were planted by the participants which included Dr. Guruprasad Mohapatra, Chairman, AAI, Shri Anuj Aggarwal, Member (HR), AAI and Shri Rajiv Goel, Executive Director (Training – IAA) among others.
Shri P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju, the HMCA who takes avid interest in afforestation drives, reminded all present that as we are also responsible for causing pollution to the sky, so we should replenish by doing our best to arrest environment degradation.
Dr. Gururprasad Mohapatra, Chairman, AAI observed that though it’s a token drive, AAI is in the process of planting 10,000 saplings at all AAI airports and establishments during the fortnight.
