Chennai Petroleum Corporation Launches First SOOPER COCO Fuel Retail Outlet in Chennai
New Delhi: Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited marked a major milestone in its growth journey with the inauguration of its first Company-Owned Company-Operated (COCO) retail fuel outlet under the brand name “SOOPER” at Mathur, Chennai, on 20 May 2026.
The launch signifies CPCL’s strategic entry into the retail fuel segment and reflects the company’s commitment to strengthening its downstream presence in India’s energy market. The newly inaugurated outlet has been established to cater to the increasing demand for Motor Spirit (MS) and High-Speed Diesel (HSD) in the region.
The retail outlet was inaugurated by H. Shankar, Managing Director of CPCL, who also performed the inaugural fueling ceremony during the event.
Senior officials present at the inauguration included P. Kannan, S. G. Venkatesh, and V. C. Asokan.
Representatives from Indian Oil Corporation Limited, along with CPCL officials and members of the public, also participated enthusiastically in the inaugural event.
Strategic Expansion for CPCL
The launch of the “SOOPER” branded outlet highlights CPCL’s plans to expand beyond refining operations and strengthen its position in India’s competitive fuel retail market.
