New Delhi: Shri Achyut Ghatak, Director (Technical), Coal India Limited (CIL), conducted a comprehensive review of mining and coal handling operations at the Gevra Megaproject, one of the country’s largest open-cast coal mines. He was accompanied by Shri N. Franklin Jayakumar, Director (Technical–Operations), South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL).

During the visit, Shri Ghatak inspected departmental as well as outsourcing mining patches, the belt transportation system, and the Coal Handling Plant (CHP). The review focused on operational efficiency, safety standards, and system reliability, with emphasis on smooth coal movement and optimized handling processes.

He also reviewed production, coal dispatch, and other key functional areas, assessing performance indicators and the integration of workflows across operations. The visit underscored Coal India’s continued focus on enhancing productivity while maintaining high safety and operational standards at its flagship projects.
