India Boosts Aviation Growth with ₹5,500 Cr Projects & Digital Monitoring: AAI Workshop

New Delhi, March 10, 2026: Addressing the Workshop on Major Infrastructure Projects and Digital Monitoring in AAI at Bharat Mandapam, Sh. Samir Kumar Sinha, Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India, emphasized that India is among the fastest-growing aviation markets globally.

He underscored the urgency to accelerate airport infrastructure development and strengthen air navigation services to meet increasing passenger and cargo demands. With a Capex of over ₹5,500 crore earmarked for critical projects, Sh. Sinha highlighted the role of digital monitoring platforms in enabling faster, transparent decision-making and ensuring that the Airports Authority of India (AAI) meets global aviation standards in a competitive sector.

The workshop reinforced India’s commitment to modernizing aviation infrastructure, adopting smart technologies, and enhancing operational efficiency across the country’s rapidly expanding airspace network.
