The self-funded project, with a production capacity of 5 tonnes per day (TPD) of CBG, will process approximately 125 TPD of press mud sourced from sugar mills using advanced bio-methanation (anaerobic digestion) technology. The produced biogas will be supplied to HPOIL, enabling clean fuel distribution for vehicular applications through HPCL retail outlets, significantly reducing carbon emissions and enhancing the adoption of renewable fuels.

The plant will also generate Fermented Organic Manure (FOM) and Liquid Fermented Organic Manure (LFOM), supporting sustainable agriculture and strengthening the circular economy ecosystem.

This landmark initiative aligns with national missions such as SATAT, Atmanirbhar Bharat, and India’s long-term energy transition goals, reinforcing the country's Waste-to-Energy and Clean Mobility framework.
