Engineers India Ltd plans to foray into the nuclear power sector soon
EIL with an estimated cost of an order inflow of Rs 8,214 crore, an all-time high in since inception, leads to a robust order book position standing around Rs 11,700 crore.

New Delhi, 30 May 2025: To increase thermal and nuclear power capacity in the country, PSU firm Engineers India Ltd, an engineering consultancy and project management company, is considering taking on more projects in both power generation segments, as stated by EIL CMD Vartika Shukla. In a statement to the media, Shukla announced that the company is negotiating with stakeholders in the wind energy sector to develop offshore wind projects as it expands its diversification efforts beyond oil and gas. The company has recently forays into non-oil and gas power sector opportunities in offshore wind.
Adding further, the company stated that the Year 2024-25 has been a year of resilience, growth, and strategic transformation and the financial performance for the last year reflects strong resilience and robust financial stability. With an estimated cost of an order inflow of Rs 8,214 crore, an all-time high in since inception, leads to a robust order book position standing around Rs 11,700 crore.

Meanwhile, it further stated that the company is planning to join the small modular reactors space. Meanwhile, the country has an installed nuclear power capacity of 8.18 GW. Shukla mentioned that the company has already ventured into the nuclear power sector and has trained its workforce accordingly.
Some nuclear projects like 2x1000 MWe Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant Units 3 and 4, the Cooling Water and Heat Recovery Systems for the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER), and NPCIL's Nuclear Power Project at Mithivirdi. The CMD further stated that the company is looking forward to explore opportunities in the small modular reactor space to meet country’s nuclear energy demand.
