HCL Implements 'Seva Sankalp' Resolution: Senior Officers Meet at Tamra Bhavan, Kolkata
Kolkata, March 2, 2026: In a significant move to align with the central government's renewed vision for public service, Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL), a Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise, convened a high-level meeting today at Tamra Bhavan, Kolkata. The meeting was chaired by Mr Sanjiv Kumar Singh, Chairman and Managing Director of HCL, alongside Mr R V N Vishweshwar, Director (Finance), to discuss the implementation of the historic 'Seva Sankalp' resolution.
The 'Seva Sankalp' resolution was originally adopted during the first Union Cabinet meeting held at the newly inaugurated PMO complex, Seva Teerth, on February 24, 2026. Chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the resolution marks a new chapter in India's governance philosophy, emphasizing the spirit of Nagrik Devo Bhava (Citizen is God) and a commitment to simplifying the lives of the nation's 1.4 billion citizens.
A Pledge for Viksit Bharat
During the meeting at HCL's corporate headquarters, the resolution was formally presented to the officers to ensure its ethos permeates every level of the organization. Mr R S Sajwan, General Manager (HR), read out the Union Cabinet’s ‘Seva Sankalp Resolution’ in Hindi, while Ms Sampa C Lahiri, DGM (Admn & CC), recited it in English.
The reading was followed by a detailed discussion on how the copper mining giant can integrate the principles of the resolution into its daily operations and long-term strategy. The core objective is to strengthen citizen-centric governance and actively advance the vision of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India).
Leadership Vision
Addressing the officers, Mr Sanjiv Kumar Singh emphasized that the resolution is not merely a document but a guiding philosophy for every PSU in the country. He urged all employees to adopt a proactive approach in their duties, ensuring that the benefits of HCL’s growth and operations percolate to the grassroots.
"This is a new beginning in India’s development journey," Mr Singh stated, echoing the sentiments of the original Cabinet resolution. "As a Maharatna company, Hindustan Copper has a pivotal role to play in nation-building. We must ensure that every decision we take is inspired by the spirit of service to the citizen and contributes to simplifying processes for the last person in the queue."
The meeting concluded with a collective pledge by the officers to work with renewed vigor to meet the national objectives, ensuring that the principles of Seva Sankalp are embedded in the corporate culture of Hindustan Copper Limited.
