N. Franklin Jayakumar Takes Charge as CMD of Northern Coalfields Limited

Kolkata:  Shri N. Franklin Jayakumar has taken over as the Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), a key subsidiary of Coal India Limited.

Before this elevation, he was serving as Director (Technical) at South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL).

Professional Background

A seasoned mining professional with more than three decades of experience in the coal and lignite sectors, Shri Jayakumar has held several senior leadership roles. He has earlier worked with NLC India Limited and Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL).

He also gained valuable international exposure by successfully leading operations at a coal mine in Indonesia for five years.

Educational Qualifications

• Mining Engineering graduate from the College of Engineering, Guindy, Anna University, Chennai

• Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental Engineering & Management from the Central University, Hyderabad

• MBA in Human Resource Management from Alagappa University, Tamil Nadu

His appointment brings extensive operational, technical and international experience to the leadership of Northern Coalfields Limited.
